Quick Picks will be a weekly feature here at NHL Hot Stove.
Quick Picks lists the top players that are 50 percent or less owned and what makes them valuable to your fantasy team.
Wojtek Wolski: Wolski just barely makes the cut at 43%, however his role on the top line in Colorado will surely raise that. As long as Paul Stastny stays healthy, Wolski has value.
Brandon Dubinsky, Vaclav Prospal: See Gaborik, Marian. Seriously, this line is in great shape and again if Gaborik can maintain his health these two will be just fine.
James Neal: This promising sophomore looks to improve on his impressive 24 goals just a year ago. He already has three playing on a line primarily with Brad Richards and Loui Eriksson, not bad company if you ask me.
Ryan Whitney: Just under 30 percent owned. He hasn’t gotten much hype after being shipped out west but I feel he should regain the form that labeled him a keeper just 3 years ago.
Drew Doughty: Doughty has been the top D-man in LA to start the year and don’t look for that to end anytime soon. Playing heavy minutes with guys like Frolov, Kopitar, Brown and Ryan Smyth should keep up his statistics. Not bad for a #4 or even a #3.
These five should produce more than draft favorites Ryan Clowe or Steve Montador, but I would consider most of these guys quick fixes who should be ridden often and early and then most likely discarded should their circumstance change.
